This summer, during the period from July 6, 2010 through August 13, 2010, seventeen students from De La Salle Vocational participated in their first paid internship as part of the Learn to Earn Program, a grant program through the Philadelphia Youth Network which will provide our students with increased employability/Life Skills training, community service opportunities and valuable work experience. These young men were partnered with the Department of Recreation and assigned to the Robin Hood Dell East where they assisted in the renovation and daily upkeep of that venue. After successfully completing this 6-week internship, these young men returned to De La Salle Vocational on August 17, 2010 to resume their classes and finish the summer session. Each of them will participate in a second paid internship at some point during the 2010-2011 school year (between January 2011 and June 2011).
